I remember a summer evening when my father and I walked out on a dock at the local marina. I think I was ten years old. There was a handsome sailboat at a mooring, and he wanted me to notice its splendid curves. He was an artist. He could put curves into wood, stone, and bronze. We stayed there a while, just looking at that boat.
I believe that the best of design and art is transcendent. It has a timeless ability to intrigue and delight the eye.
